If the original Fiat 500 were still around it would now be celebrating its 50th birthday.
Fiat is set to launch the new 500 in late 2007, hoping to impress a whole new group of young fans as well as still appealing to the older fans of the original.
Based on a shortened version of the Panda’s platform, the 500 Cabriolet – along with the hatchback – will be built at Fiat's factory in Poland .
People who are interested in buying one of these new cars will be able to personalise the interior from the range of different optional extras and colours that are on offer.
As far as under the bonnet is concerned – The engine options are 1.1 Ltr Petrol, 1.2 Ltr Petrol and also a very impressive 1.3 Ltr Multijet Diesel.
Sometime in 2009 there will be a new range of engines including a 1.4 Ltr Turbo Petrol and a new 1.6 Ltr Turbo Diesel. Both Manual and Auto gearboxes will be available.
